7th grade math class took advantage of the 70 degree weather today. We took chalk and our paper outside to complete the assignment! Super fun!




Grades 3-5 are continuing their Digital Citizenship lessons with Mrs. Clough. They have discussed the difference between personal and private information and what is okay to share online. They have also discussed digital footprints, and how it can affect your online reputation for a long time.


Athletics update: The girls basketball game scheduled for this evening (12/2) against Pinckneyville 204 has been cancelled.

Just a reminder that DeSoto Grade School will dismiss today 11/23 at 2:15 for Thanksgiving break. School will resume on Monday 11/29.

The boys game at Adams on Monday 11/22 is going to be rescheduled. We are still working on a date for the makeup game, and will let you know as soon as a date is determined.
The boys will practice on Monday from 3-5 instead.
The girls home game on Monday is still on as scheduled.
The boys and girls games on Thursday, Nov. 18, vs Tamaroa has been cancelled. The boys will practice 3:00-5:00 on Thursday. The girls will not practice.
Good luck to our basketball teams as they compete tonight against Elverado. The boys will be at Elverado, while the girls will play at home. JV game time is 5:30.
Here are a few guidelines to remember if you are planning to attend basketball games at DeSoto Grade School this year:
1. Masks are required for anyone age 2 and older.
2. Please maintain physical distancing to the best extent possible.
3. All students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the duration of the game.

Second Grade began their Digital Citizen lessons with Mrs. Clough this week. The first two lessons included discussing how to be a good digital citizen and why it's importatnt to have device-free moments. They were challenged to come up with device-free rules with their family.

Good luck to our girls basketball team as they travel to St. Andrew tonight. Due to capacity limits, they are not allowing visiting fans. They will live stream the game on the schools Facebook page. First game starts at 5:30.

Mrs. Clough will be teaching Digital Citizenship lessons with each class over the next couple months. Today Kindergarten had their first lesson. We discussed media balance, and how to find a happy balance between our online and offline activities. Check out the family activity below. I'm sure we can all work on having more media balance!
